A/N: So I decided to elaborate on this idea. I wrote a drabble about it for Glee Fic!Battle. But it just won’t go away. Doing a series of oneshots about the adventures of teen! Will and Finn. Of course we’ll still get adult! Will and Finn action too. ;)
Hindsight being twenty-twenty, Finn Hudson should really listen to that little voice in the back of his head that sounds like a combination of Quinn, Rachel, Will, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. It has better judgment then he does. One example is telling him that he CAN wait until he’s in college before going out on dates in public with his boyfriend.
Why would he be worried about that, you wonder?
It’s because his boyfriend is his Spanish teacher, Will Schuester.
So if they leave the apartment where Will is residing since he left his wife (who is a psycho in Finn’s opinion) there’s pretty much a guaranteed chance of there being police presence, arrests, a trial, and things that they really don’t want to deal with.
(Plus Will seems certain that he would end up as a prison bitch. Why he thought about that seconds after their first heavy make-out session Finn would never know. Though he did have some ideas now for kinky role-playing. Blame Kurt for even mentioning that to him.)
However, the pair of them decided to wait until Finn is safely in college before going out publically. Will decided to go to the same school under the guise of getting doctorates in Spanish (he finished his masters before returning to Lima).
Finn is pretty happy with this arrangement for the most part. He has Will cuddled up against him most nights and on the weekends they’re together constantly. Puck had been great throughout this by covering their asses and playing lookout when they have a quick grope in the janitor’s closet. He’s doing this in a combination of being ‘bros but also because he feels like he owes Finn for getting Quinn pregnant. It all balances out in some sort of strange way.
Still Finn sees his friends who are in a relationship going out on dates, sharing kisses in public, and stuff like that. It’s not that he doesn’t love having Will to himself but Finn Hudson wants people to know that he has Will.
That Will is his.
He doesn’t let Will know that of course because then he gets this look in his eye. It’s not that normal mischievous look that his boyfriend has. It’s a look that makes him appear decades older than he is. Finn usually has to kiss him out of it. He hates that look.
“We could go out of town,” said Finn, “Like college visit…but my mom would insist on going with me.”
“Hotel room?” suggested Puck easily as he toweled off.
“Too risky besides why would we when I go over to his apartment everyday?” questioned Finn as he rolled on some deodorant.
“How about going to Columbus or Cleveland? One of the larger cities? Say you’re doing a road trip.”
“How could I convince my mom to even let me go? She still has issues with you since the whole baby fiasco, she thinks Kurt would rape me in that middle of the night, and there’s no way she would let me go with any of the girls.”
“I see your dilemma.”
“I didn’t know you even knew the meaning of that word.”
“Bite me, Hudson. You want my help or not?”
“Yes, I do. So any other suggestions?”
“You could see Mrs. Gibson.”
“Dude! No way! She scares me!”
“But she could help. She really is a witch.”
“How would you know?”
“I’ve been cleaning her pool for two years now. I’ve seen some strange shit go down. Besides worst case scenario is that she’s a fraud.”
Turned out that Mrs. Gibson was suspecting him when he pulled up to her home. She opened the door and grinned brightly. She was a tall, willowy woman around forty with long, silky black hair and a tanned complexion. She was totally gorgeous and Finn felt he should shake Puck’s hand for tapping that.
“I was wondering when to expect you Finn.”
“Erm…hi Mrs. Gibson.”
“Please, Finn, call me Lorena. Now let us discuss your boy troubles.”
“How did you know?”
Mrs. Gibson only smiled mysteriously in reply.
“There is little I do not know that goes on in this town. Trust me, though, your secret is safe. Who am I to stand in the way of true love?”
Finn could only nod dumbly in reply before snapping it out of it.
“I just want to go out in public with him. I want to be able to take him out on dates. Because I think I love him. Like really love him.”
Mrs. Gibson nodded before smiling with her red, red lips.
“I know just the thing.”
Finn sat in his car outside of his boyfriend’s apartment complex. He stared at the bright, almost color changing liquid in the glass vial. He sighed wondering why he even took the damn thing from Mrs. Gibson in the first place. Puck seemed so certain in her powers though. His best friend was the biggest skeptic that he knew. He took everything with a pile of salt unless it could be done in front of his own eyes. So if Puck believed it then Finn definitely should.
She said that it would let them go out in public without there being a huge commotion. That if it worked correctly they could go out together every other weekend. He just had to get Will to drink it.
Why the hell was he doing this again? He closed his eyes before slipping the vial in his letterman jacket. He quickly made his way to his boyfriend’s apartment.
Will opened the door wearing a pair of comfy looking sweatpants and toweling off his hair. Finn gulped hard seeing a drop of water work its way down his boyfriend’s pectoral muscles. Because for a high school teacher, Will Schuester was ripped…mailman, mailman, mailman…ah there it is.
“Finn!” said Will brightly stepping aside letting the quarterback get into his apartment. He closed the door behind him, “I ordered some Chinese. I thought you were going to stop by so I got you your regular order.”
“Thanks.”
The Spanish teacher smiled before pressing a quick kiss to his boyfriend’s lips before disappearing into the bedroom to slip on a shirt.
“So I picked up a movie for us at Blockbuster.”
“Really?”
“Yeah Funny People I hope you don’t mind but I was really hoping to see it in theatres.”
“No that’s fine Will,” called Finn as he got a soda from the fridge. He fingered the vial in his pocket. Will padded out.
“So where were you?”
“Puck made me go see Mrs. Gibson.”
Will paused for a moment, “Lorena? She used to baby-sit me. I hope Puck didn’t piss her off. She could freaky things when she got mad.”
“No he told me to go see her because according to him I ‘wouldn’t stop being a pussy-ass bitch’ about not taking you out.”
He could see that look come into Will’s eyes. He took his boyfriend’s hand and wrapped an arm around his waist. He placed a kiss on the crook of his neck.
“Will don’t get like that. I love you. Puck was just trying to help.”
“Did she give you something?” asked Will suddenly.
Finn blinked. Sometimes he just couldn’t keep up with his boyfriend’s thought process.
“Uh yeah she did.”
He took out the vial. Will looked at it for a moment.
“I want to be able to go out with you too, Finn.”
And Will popped the cork and drained every last drop in the vile.
A hush descended over the kitchen.
Nothing happened. Then the Chinese delivery guy rang the doorbell.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Finn woke the next morning to find a stranger in his bed. Technically it was Will’s bed but Lord knows that he spent enough time in it to have it be his bed too.
Back to the present situation at hand though, there is a stranger in his bed. Wait…
Finn silently traced his fingers over a character tattoo that he knew meant ‘song’ on the top right of the guy’s back. Will had a tat in the same place.
Shit. It did work.
He peered at his boyfriend’s face which had lost the laugh lines. Will had always looked young for his age. Now he looked to be…Finn’s own age. He was less broad but still fairly built for a guy who did not actively participate in sports during his four years of high school. He was pretty thin like he just had growth spurt. There was a smattering of freckles over the bridge of his nose. His hair, which was pretty wild, fell past the lobes of his ears curling in wild waves with highlights of gold mingling with dark brown.
Finn gulped and began to do the mailman chant in his head. As hot as Will was he needed to wake him up so he knew the situation.
“Will?” asked Finn as he pressed a kiss to the corner of his boyfriend’s mouth, “Will? Wake up.”
Will cracked open an eye before blinking away.
“Mornin’,” yawned out his boyfriend.
Finn had no idea how to break the news delicately so he went with the direct route.
“So um…the potion worked.”
Will blinked tiredly at him for a moment before catching his reflection in the mirror.
“SHIT!”
“My thoughts exactly.”
He was expecting Will to freak out or blame him for mentioning Mrs. Gibson or something. However, Will closed his eyes and laughed long and hard for a couple minutes. The quarterback debated on looking up the witch’s number and calling her. Will stopped and grinned wide and mischievous. The same bright light that was in his eyes as an adult was still there.
“Let’s go out for breakfast.”
“Huh?”
Will kissed Finn’s nose. The wide smile was still on his face.
“Let’s go take a shower, then get some breakfast. Out. In public. You can even invite Puck. I just got money from the bank.”
Finn stared at his newly younger boyfriend before following him into the bathroom.
“Oh? And Finn?”
“Yes Will?”
“Could I wear your letterman’s jacket?”
Finn could only grin and beam in response.
