I've been wanting to see a fic along the idea of what Finn's mom would make of a Winn relationship because it would be a really difficult situation for a parent - especially a parent who'd been alone for most of the child's life - to be in. I think you handled the issues brilliantly here; staging the fight between Carol's protective maternal instincts but overall having her more understanding instincts win out because just wanting her son to be happy.

You've also weaved a lot of back story about Carol around what small canonical evidence we have of her character incredibly well. I think my only nitpick is the name of Finn's dad. I'm not certain but I think during the argument between Finn and Carol in Home when she is addressing the urn as if it is still alive she call it Christopher. Just, y'know might be worth double checking that.
